NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir information department on Thursday collaborated with The Art Of Living for a “India meditates” programme on mental wellness in Srinagar.
The programme, organised to celebrate 75 years of Indian independence, was aimed at teaching and training employees, artists and students of J&K to tackle stressful and challenging situations at different stages of life.
While hosting the session AE&CO Syed Shakeel Shan emphasised that mental fitness is the most essential component to live a successful & peaceful life. He said such programmes are the need of the hour and should be held across J&K.
Regional Director of Art Of Living Vandana Daftari said according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the issue of mental illness affects an estimated 350 million people around the world today. In this scenario, investing in mental health is of paramount importance. The economic and social costs of poor mental health are significant, underscoring the urgency to prioritise mental well-being on a global scale.
