LUCKNOR: Manilal Patidar, a 2014-batch IPS officer who was arrested in a case of abetment to suicide during his stint as the superintendent of police of Mahoba district, has been dismissed from service. Patidar is the first IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh to face termination, officials said.
The order for termination of Patidar’s service was issued on December 29, 2022, but the decision came to the fore on Saturday, when his name was removed from the list of UP IPS officers. The technical services wing of UP Police maintains the list of IPS officers of the state cadre, which is available on its official website.
Senior officers at the police headquarters confirmed the dismissal after the updated list of IPS officers went viral on social media.
