NEW DELHI: An IndiGo Airbus A320neo operating the Delhi-Dehradun flight on Wednesday as 6E-2134 returned safely to IGI Airport following a false fire warning on one of its engines. The aircraft took off at 2.09 pm. Minutes later pilots got the fire warning alarm and they declared May Day, requesting Delhi ATC for a priority return. The aircraft landed safely at 3.19 pm.
In a statement, IndiGo said: “Flight 6E 2134 from Delhi to Dehradun returned to its origin due to a technical issue. The pilot informed the ATC as per procedure and requested a priority landing. The aircraft landed safely at Delhi and will be back in operations after necessary maintenance. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers.”
Senior official say “that was a false warning. The aircraft has landed safely.”
