Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday handed over an appointment letter for a government job on compassionate grounds to the wife of circus worker Deepu Kumar (27), who was gunned down by terrorists in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district last month.
Kumar, who worked at a circus in Anantnag’s Janglat Mandi area, was killed when he had gone to buy milk on May 29. LG Sinha had announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to Kumar’s family, living in abject poverty in a remote village in Udhampur district.
“LG Manoj Sinha handed over an appointment letter for a government job to Sakshi Devi, wife of civilian Deepu Kumar, at Raj Bhawan today,” said an official spokesperson, adding that the LG assured the bereaved family of every possible assistance and support.
