CHANDIGARH: Ex-Punjab cabinet minister and BJP member Gurpreet Singh Kangar, who is under the scrutiny of Vigilance Bureau (VB) in a disproportionate assets case, was stopped from boarding a flight to Montreal from IGI Airport in Delhi on Sunday night as a lookout circular had been issued against him. However, no arrest was made.
The circular was issued against him as he had not appeared before Vigilance Bureau in Bathinda despite summons. Kangar is now Punjab BJP general secretary.
He had initially joined the vigilance inquiry at Bathinda but he had subsequently not appeared before VB. The bureau has gathered details of various movable and immovable properties acquired by him and his family members, especially during previous Congress government term from 2017 to 2022.
