For the unversed, All That Breathes revolves around two Muslim brothers based in Delhi, who make it their life’s mission to protect wounded birds, especially black kites. The film has won top awards at prestigious film festivals.

Shaunak Sen’s acclaimed documentary All That Breathes, which lost the Best Documentary Feature Oscar to Navalny this year, is now streaming in India.
The docu, which won prestigious awards in film festivals such as Sundance and Cannes, is currently streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. Although it landed on the streamer on March 22, it seems the documentary will only get to have a small run on the platform as Disney Plus Hotstar had earlier announced it would be removing all its HBO content come March 31.
So audiences have a little over a week to watch the well-received documentary which created waves abroad that it ended up bagging an Oscar nomination.
For the unversed, All That Breathes revolves around two Muslim brothers based in Delhi, who make it their life’s mission to protect wounded birds, especially black kites. The official synopsis of All That Breathes reads: “All That Breathes, directed by Shaunak Sen follows two brothers who run a bird hospital dedicated to rescuing injured black kites, a staple in the skies of New Delhi, India. In one of the world’s most populated cities, where cows, rats, monkeys, frogs, and hogs jostle cheek-by-jowl with people, the “Kite Brothers” care for thousands of these mesmerizing creatures that drop daily from New Delhi’s smog-choked skies. As environmental toxicity and civil unrest escalate, the relationship between this family and the neglected kites forms a poetic chronicle of the city’s collapsing ecology and deepening social fault lines.”
Shaunak Sen had earlier spoken about facing defeat at the Academy Awards this year, and stated that the team was ‘low’ in spirits when they heard the news, and are doing their best to come to terms with it.
