BHOPAL: Defence minister Rajnath Singh hit out at Congress at a farmers’ meet in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh on Tuesday, calling its leaders ‘seasonal Hindus’ and accusing them of misleading the country.
“Some people in Congress have become ‘seasonal Hindu’ (mausami Hindu) and are performing Narmada Aarti. I want to ask them why didn’t you remember Narmada ji earlier? Why now? It was chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who declared Narmada ji a living entity,” Singh said.
Singh didn’t name AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who had launched the Congress poll campaign in MP a day earlier with Narmada Puja and given five ‘guarantees’ to the people. Replicas of Lord Hanuman’s mace were seen at her rally.
“Now they are carrying Hanuman ji’s mace to their meetings and events. Earlier, they were wary of taking the name of Ram and Hanuman,” Singh remarked on Tuesday.
“To hoodwink the public, the Congress is talking about five guarantees. In Kamal Nath ji’s government, many announcements were made, none of them were fulfilled. Now Congress is talking about guarantees again,” Singh said.
“BJP fulfils all its promises. We promised that we will build a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya and you all can see it happening. ‘Pratisthapna’ of Ram Lalla will be done on January 22, 2024,” Singh said.
“Looking at the work done by Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the confidence displayed by the crowd, I can say with certainty that we will again form the government with more seats this time,” he asserted.
